How can Europe promote the diffusion and upscaling of innovative transport and mobility solutions? On January 14, 15 organizations from 7 different European countries, met for an online kick-off meeting of the ENTRANCE project, which started its work on January 1, 2021. The goal is to create a European matchmaking platform for innovative transportation and mobility tools and services. The project is funded with a grant of €1.5 million by the European Union's Horizon 2020 research and innovation program. The consortium will work together for three years to create the matchmaking platform to drive Europe's innovative transportation and mobility solutions.
Climate change and the resulting European climate action are leading to major challenges in all areas of transport and mobility. ENTRANCE provides a legitimate European matchmaking platform and complementary offline services designed to mobilize financial resources to accelerate market access and scaling of "first of a kind" sustainable and zero-emission transport solutions, thereby reducing European CO2 emissions and pollutants caused by the transport and mobility sector.
Are you building Europe's sustainable mobility system? Then ENTRANCE is the right place for you. The focus of the ENTRANCE project's overall concept is on the "supply-demand-finance" triangle, which is intended for all transport and mobility modes and aims to facilitate matchmaking between the providers of innovative technologies, products, and services, buyers, and investors. Through the ENTRANCE matchmaking acceleration funnel workflow, zero- or near-zero emission transportation solutions are identified, attracted, and matched with potential buyers for the first time. Funding opportunities and knowledge about best practices for deploying innovative solutions, as well as European and national tenders and legislation, are shared through the online platform.
Are you ready to bring your solution to market? ENTRANCE has your back. Training and outreach activities are conducted to increase the maturity of the ENTRANCE community and close the gap between innovative solutions and the market. To mitigate risk to the adoption of innovative solutions, ENTRANCE will also facilitate purchase aggregation through matchmaking activities and the establishment of a neutral trustee to orchestrate purchase aggregation. Access to funding will be supported through an online funding program database and individualized and personalized innovation funding advice and support will be provided. Funding advice will combine public funding, private investment opportunities, and the best mix of alternative funding models for solution providers. Finally, ENTRANCE will facilitate cross-fertilization and clustering with European transport and mobility associations and initiatives to support critical mass and achieve a coordinated European impact to foster the diffusion and upscaling of innovative transport and mobility solutions.
Everyone is welcome to join ENTRANCE and contribute to achieving the European Commission's ambitious targets to reduce CO2 emissions from transport by 2030 and 2050 and to respond to the increasing mobility needs of people and goods, thus strengthening European competitiveness and fostering growth and jobs.
ENTRANCE has received funding from the European Union's Horizon 2020 research and innovation program under Grant Agreement No. 101006681.
The consortium is looking forward to a successful collaboration. So stay tuned for more updates on the activities of the ENTRANCE matchmaking platform that will be established during the project.
