Challenge I Hygiene
Hygiene at the different work stations, efficient cleaning, new cleaning materials and technologies, alternative clothing for the personnel and real time recording of the hygiene status are current challenges looking for innovative solutions.
Challenge II Industrial Automation
Machine2Machine communication, AI, robotics, advanced sensing, and advanced materials with the potential to change the poultry industry and secure future competitiveness. This refers especially to precise alternative cutting of non-standardized, naturally grown poultry parts to minimise losses. It also includes continuous tumbling for marinating meat to minimise leftovers and autonomise the process.
Challenge III Sensor Technology
Focus is in automatically sensing, measuring and quality grading different poultry parts such as wings, breasts, legs, thighs, etc., and detect locations for robotic manipulators to grasp or operate on the parts. Of additional interest is the detection of bones, cartilage, foils, metals and plastic during the various productions stages. Furthermore, we are looking for sensors for gathering climate data and for technical solutions, which help to optimize the climate during the transportation of live birds on trucks.
Challenge IV Packaging
With regard to packaging innovations, we are specifically looking for solutions shelf life optimisation, packing of mixed cartons or QC of labelling.
