The mobility of the future is safe, clean, efficient - and offers enormous growth and prosperity opportunities for
our country. In order to develop autonomous driving together with the economy and science, and to prepare higher degrees of automation and Networking, "digital test fields" are to be developed - subsidised by the Federal
Government. Together with automotive manufacturers and companies from the digital economy, the latest technologies for autonomous driving are to be tried out here. Implementation takes place based on electro mobility from renewable energies. This digital test field for autonomous driving that is to be newly developed supplements the digital test fields planned to date in urban regions and on the A9 motorway.

The network "effizientum" is to enable partners to handle the changes that result from the future requirements to resource-efficient production processes. Electro mobility hails a new technical era in the traffic area. This radical change will specifically affect the automotive supplier industry. Various purchased parts will be completely obsolete or changed severely. The e-mobility network for light-weight parts for electro mobility is to give the medium-sized supplier industry a platform that permits early and solid preparation for the pending changes. The network is formed by medium-sized suppliers who have many years of experience in the production of components, assemblies and systems in automotive production.

Innovative approaches for existing cleaning methods
Very fine cleaning comprises removal of undesired substances or material structures that may, for example, change
the roughness, wetting properties or chemical, electrical and visual properties of surfaces in undesired ways. In addition to cleaning methods, the cleaning process also comprises the detection of contamination required in advance. The network is interdisciplinary, linking various areas of expertise from practice and research.

Efficient refrigeration technology without refrigerants that harm the climate
As compared to conventional compressor chillers, magnetic cooling offers a number of advantages, such as higher efficiency, avoidance of gaseous refrigerants and lower vibrations or lower noise emissions. In order to achieve a broad use of magnetocalorics, the approaches that have only been demonstrated in research and lab scales must be pursued further and developed. In the magnetocalorics Innovation network, companies and research facilities cooperate to perform their developments together. The network processes all research and development subjects that are relevant for improving efficiency and for suitability for use of magnetocalorics in different applications.

Optical measuring technology & sensors for the production of the future - industry 4.0
In light of current developments and challenges, intelligent, linked measuring technology and sensors are to be implemented for the production of the future (industry 4.0) in the scope of this network. Integration of such systems into production is to make it possible to automatically produce customer-specific products in standardised and controlled production processes. The developments of new measuring technology from the macro to the nano range and development of intelligent, linked process measuring technology and sensors, to development of new measuring methods in the area of imaging are to play central roles. As a supplementary aspect, industry 4.0 and the interfaces and standards needed for this in the area of measuring technology and sensors for industrial production are analysed and developed.
